Bridge Street School puts forth its personal best to foster educational growth and community relationships. Bridge Street Elementary School is one of twelve elementary schools in the Yuba City Unified School District. It was built in 1975 to serve students living in the midtown section of Yuba City, and is rich in tradition.
Through the Quality Education Investment Act of 2006 (QEIA), students in 4th and 5th grades are provided a reduced student/teacher ratio. Gifted and Talented students (GATE) are tested for eligibility in 3rd grade, and clustered in 4th and 5th grades. Classroom music is provided to 2nd and 3rd grade students, while Orchestra and Band is provided to 4th and 5th grade students. Wednesdays are scheduled as minimum days, where staff participates in instructional development and planning time to identify and establish specific learning objectives in all core areas. Our School Site Council (SSC) and English Language Advisory Council (ELAC) meet at least six times yearly to focus on academic improvement.
